Nine Summer Camps to choose from:

1. North Coast Winds Chamber Music Camp

Grades 6-12

Program Description: This camp includes music instruction, master classes, and performances by the award-winning members of the North Coast Winds. Students will participate in chamber ensembles for all ability levels, seminars on music theory, music history, and the music business, standard quintet repertoire, a profesional recording of the final performance, and fun musical games. The camp will conclude with a concert on Saturday, June 10th at 11am in the Metro Campus Black Box Theatre.

Cost: Early Registration is $250 by May 18th, $300 after May 18th. Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch. Call 216.987.6145 for scholarship information.

2. Music and Math Camp

Ages 9-12

Program Description: Have fun reviewing making music while you sharpen math and literacy skills. Cleveland DJ and producer Phatty Banks teaches using the latest technologies in the music industry.

3. Middle School Performing Arts Camp

Students Entering Grades 5–9 in Fall 2017

Program Description: The 21st Annual Tri-C Middle School Performing Arts Camp for Acting, Singing, Dancing, Playwriting, Pantomime, all taught by Theatre professionals. Included is a public performance the last day of camp on Saturday, July 1st at 3pm. Campers can participate in student directing along with the performing skills work.

Note: Campers may arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. and be picked up as late as 5:15 p.m. with special arrangements. Please email Camp Director Kira Seaton to arrange early drop off/late pick up at Kira.Seaton@tri-c.edu. Campers should wear clothes and shoes they can move in and bring a packed lunch or money to buy in the College cafeteria. Optional camp T-shirt may be purchased at the camp.

4. High School Performing Arts Camp

Students Entering Grades 8–12 in Fall 2017

Included is a public performance the last day of camp on Saturday, July 28th at 3pm. Campers this year will, dance, sing, act, and develop alternate characters.

5. Tri-C JazzFest Summer Music Camp

Ages 12-18

Work hard. Play hard. Spend two weeks at a jazz camp that culminates in a world-class jazz festival June 23-25, 2017. Get the benefit of working with Tri-C JazzFest artists AND the chance to perform at the festival. All camp participants receive a pass to festival concerts at Playhouse Square.

Students must audition before registering for this camp, by either sending a video or scheduling a live audition time on Tuesday, May 30th between 6pm and 9pm. Please call 216.987.6145 for more information, and to receive the required music to be played for the audition.

Cost: Early Registration is $250 (by May 18th), $300 (after May 18th). Please note: Audition videos must be sent in before May 18th to receive the early registration discount. Students who perform a successful live audition on May 30th may be honored with the early registration discount.

6. Strings Attached Camp

Ages 6-18

This camp provides students of violin, viola, cello and bass an opportunity not only to polish their instrumental skills, but to create their own music as well. The camp combines string ensemble classes with a language arts class, in which students learn journaling, storytelling and poetry. The students then select one of their poem or stories, from which a team of fellow students creates a performance with original words and original music. Students succeed, sometimes astonishingly well, in expressing themselves, while at the same time perfecting their skills of music and language. There will be a final performance that is open to the public.

Note: Lunch is provided.

Cost: Early Registration is $300 (by May 18th), $350 (after May 18th)

7. Dance Academy Intro/Beginner Camp

Ages 4-12

This camp offers intensive training in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and more, with floor work, center work, and movement across the floor. This camp culminates in a final performance for the public.

Tri-C Dance Academy students train in the fundamentals of ballet and explore creativity through modern dance. This camp emphasizes contemporary techniques to develop coordination, musicality, strength, flexibility, and alignment. Students learn basic ballet and modern dance techniques, floor work, center work and movement across the floor. Instruction in creative improvisation, performance development, choreography and composition skills will culminate with a final performance.

Director and Choreographer of the Academy is renowned artist Terence Greene. His love for choreography and teaching young people is evident in his extensive credits of schools, professionals, and dance companies with which he has worked nationally and internationally. 9. The A Cappella Camp

Ages 13-19

A Cappella Camp is a summer vocal music program where teenagers have the opportunity to explore the A Cappella genres of contemporary pop, jazz, gospel and other art music. This fun-filled camp is an educational music program designed to help build character, self-discipline, and musicianship among teens. The camp is directed by Reginald Bowens, a member of the award-winning group, Traces of Blue, who performed on the third season of NBC's The Sing Off.
